iBackup

iBackup is a simple to use backup/restore utility.
Backup doesn't backup the whole disk (image) but the data and settgins of a user. The reason for that is to get smaller backups. With iBackup you must first install your operating system, after that you can restore your data with iBackup (or you simply drag and drop the files).
The greatest feature of iBackup is its ability to backup settings, e.g. Mail, iPhoto, iTunes, but also 3rd party applications (at the moment more than 250 plugins for backup application settings are available) which allow you to restore the settings and data of one application or to restore an earlier point in time.

Macfusion

Macfusion is an open source Mac application that allows you to work with files on servers across the internet, as if they were sitting on your computer. Macfusion presents a Volume in Finder, letting you use your favorite Mac applications to work with them.

Mount ftp locations and computers that can be accessed via ssh on your finder !

Macfuse

Macfuse is a collection of headers.

MacFUSE is software that allows you to write arbitrary file systems as user-space programs. You can think of it as a library for easily developing Mac OS X file systems. Note that it does not load any drivers or affect your system in anyway!

MacFUSE is not an application. It's not a background process. It's not something that launches automatically at boot time or any other time. It does not configure, reconfigure, or modify the normal working of OS X by itself. It does not alter settings of any OS X components besides placing its preference pane for System Preferences to use.

It is essential for other utilities such as ntfs-3g, macfusion, to work.

NTFS 3G

If you have any external hard drives with ntfs file format (MS Window XP, etc) and you need read - write permissions when connecting them to your mac, then this is for you!
It works with any ntfs partition connected to your system.
How it works? it just overrides the ... poor mac os's pre-installed driver for mounting ntfs file systems.
NTFS-3G can be disabled / uninstalled anytime.

This utility includes macfuse packages as well. Macfuse is a collection of headers. Note that it does not load any drivers or affect your system in anyway!
